To expand on Miral's comment...in the book and the movie as well, Dan Brown gave the idea that Mary was not a prostitute, but that the church tainted her that way in order for the rest of the story to be regarded as codswallop. Also, in Brown's book, they are described as being husband and wife, not boyfriend and girlfriend.

My vote is for a position where a person lies face down on an Iraqi flag and wears either a Saddam, Bin Laden, Anne Coulter, or Statue of Liberty mask on the back of their head.
