You discriminate on the grounds of colour, religion/race e.t.c. Why?
John McLaughlin said 06/17, 08:03 PM
Sorry for not replying earlier, but I was enticed into a game of frisbee at the DeVry homecoming (we have ours in June) and I got a little color. Long story short, I've been too ashamed to leave bed. Anywhoo...
W: You discriminate on the grounds of colour, religion/race e.t.c.
JM: WRONG! I evaluate.
I've stated in another debate that it's grossly inefficient to judge a person by their actions. It simply takes too much time to observe action after action in order to form an accurate opinion of a person. And if you're not reviewing their actions, you're giving audience to some long-winded peer recommendation.
Judging on appearances is the wave of the future; in business we call it "taking aesthetic inventory", or "TAI", and it can tell you things about a person that it could take months or even years to learn the old fashioned way.

To judge someone on the grounds of colour is racist and is extremely wrong. I think that most normal people would agree with me that to say that someone who is black is not as good as someone who is white, is racist. You cannot say that someone who is black is less good at a job than a white person, simply because they are black. That is racist!
John McLaughlin said 06/18, 01:59 PM
I've told you already, I don't judge, I evaluate. Sheesh!
W: I think that most normal people would agree with me that to say that someone who is black is not as good as someone who is white.
JM: WRONG! Most normal people would agree that Mr. T (black) is not as good (at microbiology) as Dr. Tan Eng Lee (white). But you say this is untrue simply because Mr. T is black. You are so backwards, it's scary.
By the way, here's a picture of me (bottom left):

However you dress it up "evaluating" someone on their colour of their skin is still racist, no matter what you say or what you do. Look at the votes and you can see that most people agree with me.
John McLaughlin said 06/19, 02:03 PM
What a terrible rebuttal! You didn't even touch my example of Mr. T's microbiological acumen being inferior to that of the caucasian Dr. Tan Eng Lee!
You're fighting a losing battle. Good day, sir.
I said, GOOD DAY!
Wasn't JohnM the one that said tanned people aren't as competent to lead as white people are? I laughed when i read that.

Report Offensive CommentYeah, extremely offensive and obviously untrue, yet hilarious

Report Offensive CommentGimme a break. JM is obviously not a real debater on this site. To the best of my knowledge he logged one "debate" where he just railed against minorities. To treat him like he's a legitimate participant on this site is embarrassing to you, Wolf. Just ignore him. There have been plenty like him before, and they go away when nobody gives them the attention they so desperately seek.

Report Offensive Commentwhat I want to know is which two people voted to say he's not racist? And he's not just racist either, he's xenephobic, homophobic, tanaphobic... lol

Report Offensive CommentJM: you evaluate....based on colour, religion, race? That my friend is still bigoted and rascist. And how lazy to you have to be to think that it takes to much time to evaluate someone on their actions. That is what democracy is based on my friend, the democracy that lets you debate people and go to "DeVry"

Report Offensive CommentSome may laugh, but I find your "humor" embarrassing. I looked up your profile hoping against hope that you were not an American. But, of course, you are. Sigh.

Report Offensive CommentJM, your "TAI" is based on the way the person take care of him/herself, speak, behave. Not about colour/religion/race. Between one "white guy" who puts his elbows on the table while eating, swears or has dirty nails and one "black guy" who sits straight, speak respectfully and has an un irreprochable hygiene, guess who will be chosen ? It really has nothing based on race or colour... If it was, you would have only one kind of insipid businessmen and that's not the case. Because if "TAI" was about the body you were born with, only beautiful or intelligent-looking (I insist on the LOOKING) will be engaged.

Report Offensive CommentIf I said that bald people are lesser than people with hair, would you agree? After all its not by choice that you have no hair but it doesn't make you a lesser person and if you think that being black is a negative thing then so is being half bald.

Some people are white and others black, it makes no difference whatsoever. People are people and should be judged on who they are as a person based on ability and personality not who there parents were, the God they worship, the country they decended from or who they go to bed with!
