I probably wouldn't vote for him, but I'll argue that he's quite eligible.
Article II Section 1 of the Constitution says:
"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States."
It doesn't say anything about being a VP, NOR does it say anything about how many steps removed from the big job a non-native may be. It doesn't say that he can't be the Speaker of the House or the eldest member of the Senate. It refers ONLY to the Presidency.
There, of course, is no legal precedent here, but I'd say he'd have a good fighting chance in court.

I quote the twelfth amendment of the constitution.. "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."
