I WILL VOTE ONLY FOR THE CANDIDATE THAT HAS A SOLUTION TO THE GAS CRISIS, OR NOT VOTE AT ALL IN NOVEMBER.

I believe in issues such as security, economy, health, education, environment etc. I however will, in the coming election, vote for a candidate (Democrat or Republican) who presents to me a convincing energy solution.

None of these candidates are currently talking new solutions. They are attacking each other. So far, Obama is found wanting on his proposals while McCain promisses nothing different.

I know millions of Americans feel the same.

Seeing as this debate is more of a 'soapbox' format, allow me to stand up on mine.

True, we're all getting raped at the pump, but I have very little sympathy for anyone who's purchased a gas guzzler in the past four years. My last car got about 15mpg, PLUS it required premium fuel. In the days when I bought it, global warming wasn't nearly as prominent, and gas went for about $2 per gallon - and even then, it struck me as reckless to buy a gas guzzler when you don't need one.

Not only do I not have sympathy for a tool who scoffs at warnings of human-influenced global warming (and I'm not saying that any of this applies to you, my honorable opponent), I'm actually pretty pissed that their fashion statement is driving up the price of gas for me.

There's plenty of blame to share for high oil prices, so let's not leave out the spoiled brats who just HAD to drive a vehicle that they though looked so cool.

4 months remaining for the next argument...

hmm... Iam you suprise me. I expected many of the pro-alternative resource proponents to enjoy high-gas prices, it provides incentives for people to develope alternatives faster

Treating a General Election as if it is your own personal referendum is, frankly, ridiculous. The "gas crisis" as you describe it, is an important issue but to argue that the next four years of Government should be determined by candidates' attitudes towards it is banal!

It's true, I'm a big proponent of clean alternative energy, but I reserve the right to say that this is a lousy means to reach such an end.

Y are we having a debate about who Florida will vote for? you can't win because you can't possible make ppl think that he will vote for a certain person or party. this debate doesn't make sense

I agree with Mark. There is no real debate stated, just two "main" people stating their own opinion, which happens to be different.

Florida, submit your argument or retire this stupid debate.

If you don't intend to vote your opinions don't count for anything anyway.
