"The trip is a chance to gauge how a 46-year-old senator with relatively little Washington experience might fare on the world stage. That was the promise in making such a high profile tour in the middle of a tight presidential contest, but there was some risk, too: the danger of a gaffe or, perhaps worse, that voters would see the foreign swing not as an bold audition but as an supreme act of presumption." I think Obama touring the nations abroad is a smart move. Aside from getting slammed by McCain and Co., I believe his meetings have proved well. He has gotten positive feedback from leaders of various nations, such as Israeli President Shimon Peres. He believes that "the future belongs to the young"
Until you, condi ricecakes, define your position on this matter instead of using an article to do so for you, I am done with my bit. I think Obama is making a smart move in going overseas now.
Condi, how the hell have you been in so many face-offs, yet only have a record of 2-0?

Report Offensive CommentSure, it was a risky move--never underestimate the zenophobia of many Americans. The fact that Europeans love Obama will probably alienate a lot of so-called patriotic folks here at home.

This year, close to 90 ships have been seized in and around the Gulf of Aden, more than triple the number of 2007

Katelyn fails to actually say that even though obama's tour was a good choice it WASN'T risky. You can make a good choice but still have risk instituted in it's accomplishment.
