U.S. out of Iraq.

It is time for America to start bringing its troops home. After spending more than 3 trillion dollars in an ongoing struggle with unwieldy, abstract objectives like "National Security" or "Defeating Terror," we have succeeded in removing Saddam Hussein, verifying the non-existence of WMD's, and degrading Al-Quaida's presence in Iraq to the point where Iraqi's will have the advantage against them in the future. While completely stabilizing the region is a noble goal, it is unfeasible as the U.S. economy teeters and wobbles, and no amount of American dollars or bullets are going to be able to be able to pacify centuries old ethnic hatred and religious intolerance between rival factions. Far from an all out "cut-and-run," we need to make what provisions we can for U.S. supporters, including facillitating immigration to the U.S. for those who helped us and would endangered by our departure, humanitarian aid for Iraqi citizenry, and even continued air support, but we need to get our troops off the ground.

10 months remaining for the next argument...

have you considered what would happen after we leave? if you think things there are bad now, just wait till we pull out the fighting will be 100000000 times worse! we can't just leave the iraqis to fend for themselves! we also have gained on the military front! y leave now? when many insurgents are turning against Al-Queada? What about Iranian, Syrian, and Saudi influence clashing in the region? can we really lose such a large and critical country to other nations?!?! with american troops there we can somewhat keep whatever of a democracy they have there, if we leave the government will be completely ignored by everyone and it's power and influence will be destroyed. you also have to consider the iraqi army who can only do any good with our military backing it up. if we leave they wouldn't be able to kill a fly! we can't just abandon them.

Well said Mark. In addition, the benefit of our presence in the Middle East allows for flexibility in pursuing Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups. If we do not, have a presence where terrorism lives we are operating blind in the new world of terrorism

One has to wonder how one side's gotten 5 votes to 0 when the other side hasn't spoken a peep.
