Debates, whether or not McCain shows up, are a win-win for Obama.

"As the candidate with the momentum, thanks to the unraveling of the financial markets, the Democrat will likely try to steer as many questions as possible ??? however internationally oriented in the asking ??? toward the shambolic state of the U.S. economy. This would be the "cool" approach: stick to his strength, convey calm, and gracefully clear the bar of appearing Presidential under pressure. " TIME's Jay Carney writes more here: http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1844757,00.html

i'm for obama, there's no contest, I think he'll come through (win win), he's prepared for this, he knows how to manage his time. He already said last night that this crisis is part of the foreign policy because the economic problem is a global one...and spending billions monthly on the war in Iraq is not helping our situation. The towers led to this economic chaos, depletion. He has every right to talk about the economy because it has world leaders on the edge of their seats.

about 1 month remaining for the next argument...

McCain rocks. He made Obama look ignorant in the debate

McCain took a bashing when it came to the economy but Obama showed his inexperience in foreign policy affairs. I'd say a tie in this one.

Overall, my gut reaction was that this was a draw and little new information was brought to the fore. But of course, since this was McCain's big chance, a draw is a big win for Obama. And Obama certainly did come across as presidential, level headed and well thought out. (and despite the rebuke, HE DID know the difference between stragic and tactical, while McCain did not. And remember, when it comes to nuclear weapons, there is a lot of difference. Wouldn't want the president lobbing a strategic nuclear sweapon (ICBM) at the enemy when it was supposed to be a tactical one. (nuclear tipped artillery shell) .

If Mccain won why are the polls still on Obama side? As far as Foreign policy affairs I feel Obama knows more then people give him credit for! He brought out of where Macain stood on the war when it broke out and where he is know and I feel if we vote for Mccain we will be in more wars then we have ever been in! Also Mccain make it sound like he has and will take care of our troops and veterans but if you talk to them you will find out that he has voted against allot of thing for them! (My husband and bother-in-law are two of them!)

The polls are on Obama's side because they are fixed by a bias media. Not all polls can be trusted. Look at the one that favored Gore over Bush, for example. Not only are they biased but they are not a good canvas of public opinion since we have no idea how many people voting are Democrat, Republican, or Independent. Needless to say, polls are not always a good indicator of win/lose situations. McCain won this debate hands down. Obama told me nothing new. I'd already heard all his rhetoric before. However, I was very interested in McCain's reply to Obama's accusation that he gives tax cuts to the rich. The fact that McCain defended his tax cut for businesses was very enlightening and one with which I agree. Businesses have to have an incentive to stay in America or to move their company back. You can't just stand up, wave them in and say "ya'll come back now...ya hear?"

I don't think either one of them will be able to cut taxes but Obama will do what he can and keep jobs here! As far as Mccain giving tax cut to the rich he did not answer the question! Obama has also talked about tax cut for businesse who stay here! Obama won this one!!!!!

Reading Klein's comments were a joke. The media did their usual slanted biased opinions. The lights were hardly turned out when out came the usual polls. It was comical to see how fast the info favored Obama. We the public have come to regard these polls as biased & untrustworthy. Their phony & provide only what our slanted media provides. They use this to avoid truth & try to strengthen their position that is usually biased. On the issue of Afghanistan, McCain pointed out that Obama as a sub-committee chairman never visited the country to assess the situation. Several weeks ago, Obama made a statement that he would make a better Commander-In-Chief of our armed forces than McCain. This coming from a man who never served in the service & hasn't the slightest idea of military areas. I find Obama's position taxes, energy lacking specifics. He talks about tax cuts, 150 billion over 10 years for alternative energy, $1000 for energy rebates to poor families, $1000 to middle class families. Where is this money going to come from?. What exactly are his energy alternatives? He leaves much to be desired& his inexperience definitely shows. I give him this he is eloquent & charismatic but in reality this tends to overshadow his inexperience & the failure to provide specifics. He came across better than expected but the bottom line McCain has experience & will make a better leader. Unfortunately the media instead of reporting truthfully & honestly continues there usual negativism, bias, misinformation & even lying to try to achieve their objectives.

you don't need the polls to see who won, you need your eyes - and the victor was not John McCain, berhbs. He had a zillion tension smiles, was trapped inside himself, couldn't look at Obama because he was too weak, he couldn't stand to look at him so he wasn't on top, no king of the hill was McCain, his antipathy for Obama constricted him, forcing him to tense up and stay in his own cocoon in front of millions of people. That is not powerful man, that is one weak individual, and immature I might add. Wake up and see the light. Get out of the dark side where you can't see. Obama is world class.

Clearly an Obama win. He was calm and steady, as expected. McCain was threatening with his pen, sneering, never looking at Mr. Obama ... when McCain felt cornered, he would always pull up his military history... which is to be admired, however has been overused and didn't really fit in with responding to questions. It cued me to go remember what the question was and then try to place his comments into context. I also found I was able to sense when McCain was going to start the military history again, and was amazingly accurate with my predictions throughout the debate. I am thank full Mr. Obama used steady, clear and definitive responses and maintained his connection with real people.

OBAMA 08... Barak is too difinative in his policy and it has never flipped flopped... He knows the fundimentals of our economy are not sound, and if you think the fundimentals are our wokers you have fallen into that same vacuum that Senator Mc Cain has. Senator McCain needs to attend the same 96 hour prep camp that Gov. Palin will be attending this week. Coaching is something he needs to take advantage of. Obama is flawless, well educated on our Domestic policy and needs. It's cool to reach across party lines but who will reach across the aisle to the regular American who's actually casting their vote and sacraficing their time to make sure someone intelligent resides at 1600 Pennsilvania Ave... On to the White House... OBAMA 08
