McCain, and Palin have resorted to outright lies repeatedly. The fact that they are still in the race is sad commentary on American voters.

A short perusal of Factcheck.org will show they regularly have trouble with the truth.
From Newsweek;???McCain misrepresents Obama's tax proposals again. And again, and again???; ???A new McCain-Palin ad says that "McCain and his congressional allies led" on the financial crisis while Obama was "mum." That's simply not true. NYULocal states ???Mainstream journalists have started calling John McCain on his lies???. From the Washington Post ???John McCain's campaign has been more dishonest, more unfair, more -- to use a word that resonates with McCain -- dishonorable than Barack Obama???s???
McCain lied, and he continues to lie. Andrew Sullivan of The Atlantic.com does a great job of documenting her lies in his article ???The Twelve Lies Of Sarah Palin??? (http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/09/the-twelve-odd.html).
In a real world, these two would have been shamed from the public eye. An aspiring leader who shows, without honor or shame, that he/she will tell lies over and over to get what they want should not even be considered. Still, here in America, they continue to run a tight race. Are Americans truly that blind, or do they just not care?

Your title for this Face Off, the one point that you must defend in order to win, includes this statement: "The fact that they are still in the race is sad commentary on American voters."

The onus is now yours to defend a process by which McCain and Palin should be excluded from the race.

What you have expressly espoused is that there ought to be a way for us to simply eliminate, without all that tiresome voting, candidates who simply...well...um...well, they just don't hold the right beliefs.

"People who think the wrong thoughts should not even be considered for high public office." This is what your title means.

So, you would be very content for us to change our election policies in such a way that would allow us simply to exclude McCain and Palin.

Brilliant! Think of all the savings we'll have if we don't need elections.

Tell us all why your position doesn't defend doing away with elections in favor of just appointing "right thinking" candidates.

Then tell us who should do the appointing.

about 1 month remaining for the next argument...

finish it w/ the other person, and for the record citing factcheck which also says Obama lied numerously, and bias sources won't help make your point
