I wouldn't.
SpreadtheWealth said 11/07, 07:49 PM
I would.
Proud 2 b liberal said 11/07, 07:54 PM
And what would you hope to learn from it? How not to be a president? What was going on in his shrub-like brain for the past 4 years? How he struggled to properly pronounce nuclear? How to steal an election? How to start a war for no reason? How to keep a war going on but then allow horrible conditions at veterans hospitals?
I am very curious. I cannot come up with anything he could teach me.
SpreadtheWealth said 11/07, 08:16 PM
Yes, pretty much all those things and whatever else might be able to be learned. Like it or not, he was President for 8 years and will be a part of history. History has no value if we dont learn anything from it. Just because you or I might think he was the worst President in history doesnt mean that there might not be something to learned in his book if he was to write one.
Proud 2 b liberal said 11/07, 08:47 PM
These memoirs are at best, self serving drivel. I do not think he was in control for most of his presidency anyway, so to learn anything one would have to get it out of Cheney. But believe me, Cheney is not talking.
SpreadtheWealth said 11/10, 09:19 AM
Even if Cheney was one of the "masterminds" of the Bush Doctrine, it was by the power of the President GW that the doctrine was put into use. To be closed minded and not read the memoirs is your choice. Personally, Ill read it to see if there is anything to be learned. You never know until you read it. If you dont want to buy it, thats understandable. Check it out from the library then.
Interesting, but still... waste of time compared to other things to read.

Report Offensive CommentI'd read it, because it would fascinate me. Bush was a really bad president, yes. But he is an interesting person and I would like to hear his story from him, not someone with a political agenda, which I highly doubt Bush will after his term is over.

Report Offensive CommentW is not an interesting man. His bio would be boring, even with popups and jingles. BTW: he hears a bell ring every time a retard is executed in Texas.

Report Offensive CommentFirst of all W writing an autobiography is beyond his ability level. The question is would his ghost writer be literate and able to produce a work of quality. If that were the case....no!
EAST COAST ELITIST | 11/08/08
Report Offensive CommentI would not waste my time, brain power to figure out the lack of logic or reasoning Bush could ever come up with nor my devalued money, thanks to the same GW Bush.

Report Offensive CommentYou mean, HE can write? That really would be a book worth looking at! Actually. It might be better if they wrote others. Perhaps, 'Laura Bush: First Lady, Desperate Housewife', or, 'Jenna and Barbara: Enough Already, Daddy!', or, 'Barney: A Scottie With the Killer Teeth'. Anyone see how the dog bit that one journalist? Glory be the White House canine!

Report Offensive CommentHow about a Dick Chaney autobio'? Hell. He could discuss the many coronary issues he has, or, how not to go hunting (not the face!). By the way, Richard Dreyfuss portraying the current VP was outstanding. I never thought that Rich could go from a Wire Haired Terrier to a Basset Hound for the role. What an actor. Must see the movie 'W'! Should be good for laughs, as least!!
Mikethearf | 11/09/08
Report Offensive Commentwhilst I agree that we can learn from history it depends on the focus. And Dubya's focus is blinded. While many things can be written about that period, we should concentrate on authors with deeper knowledge.

Report Offensive Commenti would read it if i were looking for a good laugh. because it would be so bad that would be all you could do laugh and be amazed we elected him president.
leftwingteen | 11/10/08
Report Offensive CommentPeople should read to at the very least try to gain a historical perspective on him and his thought process even the GOP mind set at this time. To pass up historical information because of party politics is sickening. Its far too soon for us to be having this discussion without a incredible amount of bias. Lets try again in 2012.
Bull_Moose | 11/10/08
Report Offensive CommentI would read it, I try not to limit myself to only reading one point of view. As much as I might laugh or scream, I have listened to conservative talk radio (those are the real loons lol) and have even tuned into foxnews once in a while.

Report Offensive CommentWriting an autobiography requires that you are literate so it doesn't matter much anyway

Report Offensive CommentI hate how people slander other people. Even if he is stupid and he made some bad mistakes, he does not deserve all of this crap. Besides, he is out of office now. Move on.

Report Offensive CommentYou are correct, Unaffiliated. However, you forgot one thing....the whipping boy! Right now, it's 'W', and the whipping girl, 'Gov. Palin'. Soon, we'll find another, get them down, kick 'em while down and then get serious with nasty saracsm and comedic parodies! It's just much more sadistically fun and rather interesting. Dirt sells and entertains! Human beings are generally dualistic and sick creatures!!!

Report Offensive CommentThe fact is, folks, that GWB got re-elected with a majority of the popular vote, and increased his party's representation in both chambers of congress - the first time this had happened in 50 years. He has a highly-prized MBA; he defeated Richards, a very popular incumbent governor, to become governor of Texas; he had a higher college GPA than did Al Gore. A person might be able to fumble into one of those, but not into all of them. There are two popular concepts about GWB: 1) He is an idiot. 2) He is a nice guy. Both of these are wrong. He intentionally sends the message that he's not too smart. This decreases his opponents' expectations of his chances. The American left has fallen for this. Hence the popular idea that he stole his presidency.
swdowning | 11/14/08
Report Offensive CommentWell my friends, it is not how you get into office but what you do when you (Bush) are at the helm of a great nation. The facts are plain and clear no matter how one chooses to defend the results. For starters, the spectrum of his presidency is so vast, it starts with Enron at the beginning and now almost at the end of his long stay, complete panic chaos. We have less than 60 days before he leaves office. Our nation shivers in total doubt, waiting for the next monsoon of Bush-whack-ergonomics to crash upon its citizens. Remember he has no-fault insurance backing him. I hate him and his clones for all the irreversible damage that he leaves behind. He is in my opinion, a person worthy of being charged with crimes against humanity, no more, no less....

No to your question., but if he does; a comic book comes to mind. If he does decide to write a book, I have the perfect place that would give him total privacy; Guantanamo Bay resorts with private security, free torture massages and unlimited access to water-boarding.
