The average voter is already so overwhelmed by election coverage that they won't care by the time November rolls around.

What about the fact that this election is the first since 1950-something to not have an incumbent candidate? Do you think people might actually feel empowered to vote their conscience instead against an entrenched administration or a pre-chosen candidate?

I have to agree with Condi on this one, no matter how educated the remaining arguments may sound here. Yes, we're inundated with news, but that's because of the historical context of this election. And I really can't respect anyone with Nader as their icon image. Seriously.

Report Offensive CommentNo...don't think so..Look at the Ron Paul campaign and see how many Americans are waking up to the reality of the situation: Republican presidential candidate, Ron Paul, broke records when his campaign raised 4.2 million dollars in a single day from over 36,000 donors. The historic fund raising event was the result of grass roots supporters not connected with the campaign making it even more impressive. Paul???s campaign has revealed that an additional million dollars was raised from 12,000 donors, over 6,000 of which were new donors, in the week following the November 5th Money Bomb. Paul???s campaign closed out the week on November 11th with a strong take of $233,657 for the day. ???New money means new support,??? said Paul campaign spokesman Jesse Benton. ???This week is a testament to the unifying power of Dr. Paul???s message of freedom, prosperity and peace. He???s bringing the party together.??? Paul has raised $8.1 million in the fourth quarter to date, setting the campaign closer to its $12 million December 31 goal. Paul???s campaign shows donations in real time on their website. Ron Paul had responded to questions about his fund raising success saying that his campaign was ???self propelled???. That is starting to look like a very accurate statement. Grass roots volunteer organizers of the November 5th ???Money Bomb??? have already set up a website for an online Boston Tea Party to protest the ???inflation tax??? among other things. Based on the November 5th results, the online fund raising goal of 10 million dollars in a day is likely. There is the organized Ron Paul campaign and then there is the overwhelming support from grass roots activists taking matters into their own hands. Their support is seen in home made signs on lawns and even roof tops. Supporters appear in online videos, they write songs, and spread the message online via numerous social networking sites. Ron Paul???s supporters come from all walks of life. They seem to include all races, ages, and economic backgrounds. The way that they show their support for Paul reflects that. Some have even paid for planes to fly over football stadiums promoting Ron Paul for president. -Maple Brown

I agree we're being bombarded rather early, but come on... people in this country start celebrating Christmas as soon as summer is over! It doesn't mean by the time December finally rolls around they just say "eh... I've heard enough about this I don't think I'll celebrate it" Actually, if you think in terms of the lowest government approval ratings in decades you could say people are fed up with the status quo and therefore will actually go out and vote! (imagine that!)
