SHOULD FL & MI BE ALLOWED TO HOLD NEW VOTES AND SHOULD THE VOTES THEY CAST BE ALLOWED TO COUNT?

I say No on both counts. This decision was reached a year and half ago and they have had plenty of time to deal with it but now that all polls show that Hillary Clinton cannot even come close to the delegate count that Obama enjoys, her supporters are screaming that these poor people should count. They should have screamed a year and half ago and now it smells of trying to steal an election from the candidate that holds the popular vote, has over 100 more delegates and has won more states. Any attempt that trys to circumvent the rules should be viewed as just what they are, an attempt to circumvent the will of the people that this democracy was built upon. All this will serve to do is hand the election in November to McCain. If Hillary steals the nomination you will see more people voting for McCain than anyone thought possible. Is this really what the democratic party wants?

Florida and Michigan have a combined population of over 5 million people. 2 million of those people cast a ballot in the Democratic primaries. It's absurd that those votes don't count because of internal party politics. These people live in a Democracy called the and have the right to elect the presidential candidate they believe will do a good job (for them). However, because of some power struggle within the DNC those people are deprived of their right to vote.

It doesn't matter if someone should have screamed about this a year and a half ago. Both Obama and Clinton are for new primaries in both states so your argument about just Clinton supporters wanting new elections is pretty weak. Furthermore, the people in both states deserve to have both candidates campaign there so they can make a solid decision and choose the candidate that meets their demands best and is the right man/woman to take on McCain. In a Democratic race this close it would be absolutely ridiculous not to let over 5 million people, in two very critical swing states, vote. It's still called the UNITED STATES of America!

9 months remaining for the next argument...

The same people that voted to move up Michigan and Florida's primary dates individually VOTED AND APPROVED the rules that if you moved them up too early you would get punished. I see no reason to allow them a redo when they were fully aware that they screwed up.

I think that if Michigan and Florida want to get delegates seated, the respective states need to foot the cost of a new primary with the two democratic candidates on the ballot. It is quite unfortunate that those voters might not have their voices heard, but it was their own doing.

Bulldoglover, both Clinton and Obama (as are people in the states of MI and FL) are wanting those states to count...an example of media bias. You perceived only Clinton wanted a new election in those states. Clinton said "There should be some way for the people of FL and MI's to have their say". Obama said that since he wasn't on the ballot in MI, and many people in both states didn't vote believing it wouldn't count, now are feeling disenfranchised and it is their American right to vote. I agree with him AND her.
