Superman is the greatest fictional super hero. He leads the life of a regular man throughout the day only to become a crime fighting maniac that saves lives. Superman has weaknesses he knows he has boundaries he also knows how to overcome them. He is a man that has become an American idol (and a Canadian one as well) this man is now merchandized and become a man that so many little boys want to become and want to aspire to be just a fraction of the man that their personal hero is.
The Hulk is man that accidentally come to find his powers, he is ruled by his anger and his emotions. He has a lack of control of his powers.

lol. well master_debater, the problem is Superman has a weakness. Hulks only weakness is his temper which is his whole source of power. Superman may be an "American Idol" but he shouldn't. He is an alien and if an alien really came to earth do you think we would idolize him? No. We would run tests on him and most likely kill him. Do you not Remember that Hulk learned to control his powers? Hulk is at least human which is why he shouldn't be looked down on. Do not discriminate against him just because he can't fly. Little boys will grow out of Superman and Spiderman but The Incredible Hulk will always be there deep down.

Ok so fellas hears the deal, Superman is a man just a man yes he died, but that makes him a legacy. All good things come to an end. The "incredible" hulk is controlled... by his anger! he is a total loose cannon, he will never be able to make the right decision in a time of need, super man has his conscience, he can always make a choice, unlike the hulk who can kill on accident! And listen all that superman has to do to win is pick up the hulk (he has unmatched strength) and hurl him in to the sun! This is all possible. Superman ???might??? be able to be beat possibly by a crowd of superheroes but alone with out kryptonite, not something that any superhero just carries around, he would win. What special power does the hulk have???. All he does is just get big and green! Superman can fly circles around him. Superman can hit just as hard, superman burn him with his xray vision, superman will hear him coming form miles away with his super hearing abilities! Superman could totally beat the hulk!
jlin_92 said 03/25, 11:16 AM
So Hulk will get some Kryptonite. No big. Although Hulk could kill by accident he won't because HE LEARNED TO CONTROL HIS ANGER!!!!!!!! I have established this before. OK so say you are some guy that is trying to **** a girl in a dark alley... you see a giant green guy with MASSIVE muscles coming towards you... you dont think you would run like hell away from him? Uh huh. Thats what I thought. Oh and seriosly, how can flying around in circles honestly hurt Hulk??? Puh-leeeese!!!
master_debater said 03/26, 11:18 AM
Green is the color of greed, blue and red the color that your hair is as of 3rd period! is a symbol of patriotic pride. I would run away from the hulk yes, but super man would aprehend the criminal and take him to justice! super man is a true American hero!
jlin_92 said 03/26, 11:28 AM
you see the rapist may run, but Hulk would follow him and catch him. What the hell does the colors have to do with anything? ya red white and blue is patriotic but paint Hulk red white and blue and he wouldnt be nearly as intimidating. PLUS how can Superman be "patriotic" if not only is he not from America but he isnt even from EARTH!!!!!!!!!!!
I was always a spiderman fan. Why is superman the best? Is it because he has all the powers?

Report Offensive CommentHaha, I was amazed when I saw this arguement and Hadrian didn't start it, or at least wasn't in on it! I don't know who I would consider the best superhero, but until jilin 92 states his/her argument I will hold my vote.

Report Offensive CommentWonder Woman looks better in tights. And, Linda Carter has the most gorgeously haunting eyes. But, as mentioned in the link above anyone with magical powers like Gandelf could spank Superman. Rogue would be a 50/50, but Professor X or Jean Grey would easily win.
Eveas | 03/11/08
Report Offensive CommentHow do you suppose Gandalf could spank Superman?! Gandalf is still a subject of the physical world - Superman scoffs at the laws of physics (on top of being indestructible); Gandalf can barely parry a sword, let alone avert Superman's godlike eye lazers. Superman beats everyone. Who would win this one: Gandalf AND Merlin vs. Jesus?

Report Offensive CommentYou forgot the most persuasive argument for Superman. It is because he is so handsome and saves Lois Lane (and others). He's our protector! ROTP
Rightonthispoint | 03/12/08
Report Offensive CommentIn terms of 'power', Superman has it on everyone. The claim that Gandalf would beat him is total rubbish. Gandalf wouldn't even be able to get his staff up in time to invoke whatever powers might save him from Superman (alright, the innuendo is getting a little thick; nevermind the fact that we're already talking about grown men who wear vibrant nylon jumpsuits in public...).

Report Offensive CommentHello...anybody out there? Superman has been killed before( see Doomsday ). Can the same be said for the Hulk? I dont think so. The Hulk goes hard.

Report Offensive CommentThis is copy/pasted. Superman vs. Magic In some ways, magic is the new kryptonite. Superman has no defense against it, and it can affect him greatly. He's fought many powerful magicians, many of whom have been difficult to defeat. The outcome of these battles depends on strategy and exactly what kind of magical powers he's facing. At first glance, Gandalf the Grey, a wizard from "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," is no match for Superman. After all, he seems to be an elderly gentleman with a staff and a pointy hat who can make fireworks. But the important thing to remember is that Gandalf single-handedly defeated the Balrog known as Durin's Bane, an enormous, fiery demon inadvertently unearthed in the Mines of Moria. Gandalf and the Balrog are both of the Maiar -- powerful spirits present from the beginning of the world. The Maiar are second only to the Valar, the godlike beings who sang the world into existence. Gandalf isn't just an old man with a stick, and the Balrog isn't just a monster made of fire. They're both essentially demigods. If you don't remember Gandalf's fight with the Balrog, here's how it went down. The foes met on the bridge of Khazad-d??m in the Mines of Moria. Gandalf stood between it and the rest of the Fellowship. He broke the bridge, and he and the Balrog both fell. Gandalf chased the Balrog for eight days, then fought it for two days and nights. Finally, he threw the Balrog from the top of a mountain, and its fall broke the mountainside. After the Balrog fell, Gandalf died. The Balrog succeeded in killing Gandalf for one reason; when their battle began, Gandalf was already weary. If he faced Superman rested and refreshed, their battle would resemble his fight with the Balrog or Superman's first fight with Doomsday. Doomsday is the only being that has ever managed to kill Superman. In fact, Gandalf and the Balrog are similar in much the same way that Superman and Doomsday are. Gandalf and the Balrog are both Maiar, and Superman and Doomsday are both super-powered beings from Krypton. Both pairs are like two sides of the same coin. Buildings crumbled around the brawling Superman and Doomsday, and a mountain peak turned into lava and rock as Gandalf and the Balrog fought. A fight between Superman and Gandalf would be similar -- the landscape around them would shatter from its impact. But, in the end, Gandalf is immortal, and he's nearly a god. Even though he doesn't have the youthful appearance or visually stunning powers that Superman does, he has the divine power to outlast and eventually overpower him. In addition, although he doesn't wield fireballs, Gandalf has power that most people would call magical and which can affect Superman.
Eveas | 03/12/08
Report Offensive CommentYeah, they didn't take into account that Superman can move at the speed of light. How is Gandalf going to stop that? So what if Gandalf is a demigod? Achilles is a demigod, and he gets killed by a REGULAR GUY.
IamFry | 03/12/08
Report Offensive CommentI thought we were debating superheros? Gandalf is a wizard, not a superhero. Yet, I feel that Gandalf and Superman are almost one in the same, Gandalf has a spell for just about anything that may come up, and is practically immortal, whereas Superman has almost every power needed for any possible situation, which almost makes the two really lame because no matter what, they will win 99% of the time. I restate my case for Wolverine, he is just badass.
base89 | 03/12/08
Report Offensive CommentWasn't calling him my favorite. But, he and Harry Potter were counted as having the best chance to beat him according to the article. The psychic members of the x-men also were ranked quite high vs Superman. He was declared the winner over jedi, though. I have always been more into Groo, but that wouldn't even be a fight. Wolverine is a bad **** to be sure. If iron man threw some kryptonite into those palm and chest cannons he would do pretty well. Aquaman? Well, that is just laughable.
