Are all men (and women) created equal?

Our country was founded on the principle that all men ( and women) are created equal. As far as I can tell this has never really been the case.

As far as I can recall, the DOI states that "all men are created equal". I didn't know that women were stated in that documentation. As for today's society, I think that Men and Women ARE created equally especially in America. Now of course Biologically we are not the same, but as for setting and accomplishing goals and reaching whatever finacial status we inspire we are very much equal.

As for as history is concerned, it seems to me that women were supposedly "under" men. They were supposedly not as strong or as smart as men. I know for a fact that that is not the case today and has not been in my life time (for all of what I can attest). I can't think of anything that a man can do today that a woman can not do equally as well.

Since you think that women are not created equal to men, let me know some of these things and your reasoning behind them.

You misunderstand, I do not feel that men are any better than women, I just feel that they are not equal in today's society and they should be. I dont know if you have applied to college lately but blacks are able to get into a UC with a 2.5. White students must have at least an 3.7. Women, make 75 cents for every dollar that men make. If everybody was created equal than blacks and white would have the same admission requirements and women would make just as much as men.

I am Black and I attend a HBCU (Historical Black Colleges & Universities)where White Students got accepted with as low as a 1.0 GPA and Black Students had to have at least a 2.5. To me that equals out and every thing is equal. But look at the concept, majority white schools do that so that there schools can more diversity like the real world. Black Schools do it for the same reason. Once in class, an A is an A, a B is a B, etc.

I have no idea were you got your stat about:Women, make 75 cents for every dollar that men make.: because my wife makes the same amount that I do if not a little more.

I didn't "misunderstand" what you typed. You said,"As far as I can tell this has never really been the case." Let's see if I "misunderstood" that statement. "As far as I can tell" can be translated into "In my honest opinion". Do you agree? Let's continue... "this has never really been the case." can be translated into "this is not or ever has been the case(you can put TRUTH in there for CASE if you want to)." If that is wrong, pleasssssse let me know what you meant.

Maybe you "mistyped". Women can do whatever they put there minds to just like any man. Simpy put.

Hahaha. Swavee compares a HBCU college to a UC. Funny guy, read the "bell curve!"

Hey Swavee! your wife makes the same amount...or a little bit more? make up your mind! I can feel some resentment here... Yngster wanted a debate on "equality," you are playing the race card. Not really surprised since you and many of your peers are not comfortable enforcing equality based on efficiency.

Donkey DooZoo: I think that you should reread the debate and see who stated anything about any "race" first. I think that in our country, all men and women are equal. You can get picky if you want and say that they aren't because some children are born millionaires while others won't ever see a thousand. To me, in America any woman or man can reach whatever level that they dream. I.E the American Dream. Or does that not exist, Donkey DooZoo.

The reality is that no one is created equal. We are each brought into this world with our own unique gifts and talents, as well as areas in which we do not excel. We also grow up experiencing different things in different ways. If you work hard to make the most of the talents you have then that is all that you can expect. Society need to not worry about race and gender and focus on combating ignorance. Groups need to stop fretting over what they haven't been given and look into the mirror and ask what am I doing that is holding me back? I am not denying that some groups have been held down by others through out history, but that is human nature, but it is also human to fight to overcome and possibly rise above. However if people are so lazy that they want to wait until something is given to them on a silver platter, they deserve nothing.

Hey Swavee, I love your response. It is so cute. Wait a minute...you are not making any sense. Try again. Did you learn how to argue at your HBCU college?...I know now: you are a high schooler taking his chance at a grown up political debate...Let me guess Swavee, you're a high-school chick pretending to be a grown up black male. This is the American dream! I love you Swavee!

Donkey DooZoo: I can tell that you did not take my advice to reread the argument. You are trying to get personal with your "insults" and I don't want to get into that. If you would like to debate me on any topic, let me know and I will consider it. Until then, good day!!
