Obama is not a racist

There are many people out there who think Obama is a racist. He has never shown any racism, people need to move on from the Wright comments, Obama is not Wright, he is not racist.

Obama might not be a racist, but he is supported by many angry black men and women who openly despise whites. I also believe that he has become an icon of "black" hope for this particular segment of supporters. As a white man, it makes me very very uncomfortable.

You say many angry black men and women who despise whites...how do you know this? How can he become an icon of black hope, when he has not once said that he is running as a black candidate, while Hillary continously states she could be the first woman president. Obama has always been running for the people.

Look, you want people to move away from the "Wright episode." I just can't: Wright has been Obama's friend for decades. I also can't believe that a Black jury freed "O.J. the murderer," and I can't agree with M. Vick's supporters. I just can't.

Obama highlighted the racial tensions between blacks and whites in his speech on race. He said that many black people were resentful at whites for various reasons. Frankly, I do not care what those reasons are. He could have easily condamned Wright; he rather chose to salvage his image among black voters. By doing so, he became a champion for most blacks.

8 to 9 blacks out of 10 will vote for Obama (CNN poll), and, obviously (according to Obama himself) a sizable portion of these voters are resentful towards whites. It simply scares me.

Obama actually condemned Wright's comments, and Wright is not a man who continously states those comments, he in fact is a man who preaches deeply about Jesus and God. He is the man who helped Obama turn into a Christian. Obama himself stated that he never heard those sermons that are played over and over again in youtube, but when he did see them, he immediatley was shocked and condemned them.

you say 8 to 9 out of 10 blacks will vote, but you're also taking that out of context. 8 to 9 of blacks who are DEMOCRATS, and those who actually went to VOTE. All blacks don't vote, so you'll find that 80% or 90% of blacks do not vote for Obama, he simply normally has the lead out of the blacks who vote in the primaries.

You say you're scared, but that has nothing to do with Obama. Obama simply adressed the issue of racism that still exists, and it still does. He isn't a champion for most blacks because he didn't condemn Wright's comments (which he did.) I'm sorry if you're scared, but you can't blame Obama for that.

Doozoo, your argument is awful. So because some "angry blacks" support Obama, HE is racist? Who do you think the **** will be voting for? White supremacist gangs? Whoever the GOP candidate is. Ohhhh, I guess John McCain is racist too!

A black jury didn't free OJ simpson - a botched investigation and a couple of corrupt officers freed OJ simpson. But if it makes you feel better Obama has stated that he thinks OJ was guilty.

Donkeydude, I disagree with you. Doozoo tacled the debate quite intelligently. Obviously, Obama is not a racist and it is a very hard debate to win. Since Doozoo could not get youngdem on this, he/she chose to attack telling how he/she felt about Obama beeing supported by a crowd of resentful black people. I am sure many whites can relate to his/her feeling. doozoo changed the debate and Youngdem took the bate. Doozoo got my vote.

I appreciate your candor, DDZ; most people wouldn't admit that they're "scared", rather, they'd attack some trumped-up crap like Obama's 'refusal to wear a flag pin', lol. Seriuously though, if you look at it from a rational point of view, what does Obama having people like Wright (a former US marine) as supporters portend? A government-sponsored 'black takeover' of all white-owned goods/property?

How do you know if Obama is not racist. I ask this because you ask Donkey Doo Zoo as to how does he know if he is supported by angry black man and women? so if you want people to present hard facts to debate with you, you must do like wise.

What does any "-ist" do? They make sweeping generalizations about people because of thier inclusion in some form of group. Whether someone engages in that act or not can only be determined by observation. It occurs to me that whenever someone points out a problem with BHO or his campaign, and they are white, the label racist is always applied to them by the Obama campaign. Also, when BHO was adressing a crowd, explaining the obstacles to gathering support from white working class voters for his campaign, Barack stated that they clung to "antipathy to people who don't look like them". In other words white working class voters are racist. Drawing that conclusion is in itself racist. To think it is racist. To say it is racist. I will conceed the point that perhaps Mr. Obama is ignorant of his own racist tendencies, just as many whites are, but that provides no excuse.
