There are so many things wrong with it I dont know where to begin. There is no money for it first of all. In my opinion, Clinton is lying about health care. Bill Clinton promissed health care too and was unable to deliver. Now days the nation is 9.4 trillion in debt. If it was not possible then, its not possible now.

The only reason America is 9.4 trillion dollars in debt is because of highly irresponsible spending on the war in Iraq. If Hillary is true to her word (assuming she is elected) she will pull all of the American Soldiers out of Iraq, which would begin to slow the disturbingly rapid growth of the deficit.
Clintons plan also calls for raising taxes, especially on the super-rich, which will increase government revenue and improve the plausibility of her plan.
Bill Clinton's did not deliver on his universal health care promise because his health care plan did not recieve enough support to get passed.
By the way, explain how clinton is lying about health care.

First of all, because of the war we are overspending 1.5 billion per day. Wouldn't a health care plan cost just as much as a war. If you end the war, raise taxes on the super-rich we are still going to be overspending at least 0.5 billion per day. If we are still overspending, we're still going to be borrowing money from China.
Second of all, you said, "if Hillary is true to her word." When has she ever been true to her word?
Third, in my opinion, Clinton is lying about health care. It's just an opinion, I don't have any hard facts to support that claim. Call it a hunch.
Fourth, when has any governemnt program ever cost as much as governmen thought it would. What I mean is the Helath Care plan is going to cost much more than anticipated. The first rule when dealing with governemnt spending is everything always costs more than it is expected too
Lastly, what is going to keep employers from dumping their health care coverage and letting the government pick up the tab. This is an example of how it is going to cost more than anticipated.

You say that a universal health care plan would cost as much as a war. However, a universal plan would save $286 billion in administrative costs because there would be less overhead paperwork.
Even if Hillary doesn't immediately pull all of the soldiers out of Iraq, there will at least be a plan to do so.
I do not unerstand what you think she is lying about. You relly have not made that clear to me.
Although a universal health care plan may cost more than expected, the govenment still spends $200 billion on medical bills for the uninsured. Clinton's plan calls for everyoe to pay for affordable health insurance, which would prevent tthe government from paying for this.
Finally, having universal health care would mean that employers would not need to cover their workers, considering that individuals pay for their own inexpensive health care. That is not an unanticipated cost.
"If Hillary is true to her word...which would begin to slow the disturbingly rapid growth of the deficit." That sounds like a great plan, assuming she doesn't get shot by a Bosnian sniper before she gets into office.

Report Offensive CommentDonkey Dude we probably have the biggest debt out of everyone in the whole world right now and the value of the dollar is lower on a daily bases. We are no longet the richest country, we were once the richest, but not so much anymore.

Report Offensive CommentLJ, you're right there. That statement has become hyberbole, but we are still one of the wealthiest. Leverage is far from the sole determining factor - not to mention that much of that debt is owed to US citizens.

Report Offensive CommentI don't know, with social security going down the tube, i'd hate to see this happen, and i don't even have insurance.

Report Offensive CommentNo one has addressed the problems that would occur if we up and pulled out of Iraq ASAP like she is calling for. You also mentioned how we are in debt, what's the first thing you do when you are in debt? Stop spending money, even if we pulled out of Iraq (creating a bigger mess and making even more enemies) we would still continue to rack up more debt because of this ridiculous health care plan. What about health savings plans? Also, the last time we gave the government a ton of money for them to hand out to everyone they screwed it up i.e. social security. How will this be any different?

Where there's a will.. We are the richest country on the planet. If other countries can implement universal health care, so can we. CBF is right about re: budget and political opposition.
