Destruction Science deserves a place in the school curriculum as an anecdote to the secular teachings about Global Warming.

Think kids deserve to learn about Creation Science as a viable alternative to the teachings of evolution in our schools?

Did you ever think about this? The world that God created [1] shall "pass away" [2]. Too little attention is being paid in our schools to a Biblically-based account of the end of the world!

One thing is very clear. Destruction Science deserves a place in the school curriculum as an anecdote to the secular teachings about Global Warming.

[1] (Gn 1:1)
[2] (Ps 102:26; Lk 21:33; 1 Co 7:31; Heb 1:10????12; 1 Jn 2:17)

Here's the problem. School is an educational enviroment, and is supposed to educate you. You cannot teach something in the public school system which is simply based on faith. Teachings on global warming are not "secular." They're based on the scientific method which has repeatedly shown that this is a real event. So here are my points one more time.
1) Something that is based on faith, cannot be taught in the public school system.
2) Global warming has been proven by the tried and true scientific method, and has mounds of evidence to support it whereas the only support "creationism" or "destructionism" is in the individuals faith.

"Teachings on global warming are not secular." you say? Well, show me one religion that makes use of the scientific method! Maybe those goofy Buddhists perhaps, but they hate the Olympics and so they don't count.

"Something that is based on faith, cannot be taught in the public school system" you say? Then why do we require kids everyday to stand and recite a loyalty oath to "one Nation under God"? Not one nation under science, mind you. The guy who wrote this loyalty oath? A Baptist minister! Also a socialist, but thats another discussion.

Aside from all that, this is really a call to those who wish to teach Intelligent Design in our schools to be throughly honest. They should see that you can't teach Creationism without also teaching "Destruction Science" as well.

We will begin today's lesson with a poem by Robert Frost.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

No one is required to stand and recite the pledge of allegiance, it's up to the individual. That argument is so off base from what we are talking about here. Thanks for deeming my religion "goofy", but that's another discussion :]
You are suggesting that we should teach a type of Science in the public school system called " creationism" or, "destructionism" but to do this we would have to go against what science is at it's core; an unbiased, subjective study of nature.
Because no religions teach global warming, does not mean that it is secular. That's honestly a really silly argument. If the U.S. was to implement Intelligent Design into classrooms, then others religions want their own brand of science taught. And who's to say they can't? The Christians got what they wanted. Then it truly becomes secular.
If any of the people voting are actually paying attention to the issues and arguments being brought up here, it shouldn't be hard to see who's winning.

Wow, I like how two people voted for him without any basis, and probably without even reading.

papabear: One of those initial votes was me voting for myself. The other one I can't account for. I've had opponents garner 6 votes without ever posting an arguement, so don't be surprised that some people will vote for thier favorite debater, not for the debate itself.

Apparently neither Hadrian nor papabear has done a whole lot of research into Creation theory science. It is neither completely faith based nor devoid of the scientific method. In fact, it has been said that the theory of evolution requires more faith than evolution, and the Creationists have been said to have more evidence than many evolutionists. It is tiring to see these baseless anti-Creationist claims being made repeatedly, refuted repeatedly, and again made repeatedly.

RTBA2A: Sounds like these "baseless" anti-Creationist claims are not being refuted effectively -- especially in courts of law and in the meeting halls of school boards nationwide. [1] And about that Destruction Science? Lets see that curriculum please. [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitzmiller_v._Dover_Area_School_District

DonkeyDude proposes that we don't vote before the 6 arguments have been heard. I support him and would like everyone to join us. This will make sure that people complete their debates and not avoid finishing their debates when they are trailing in votes.
