Racism in America is still alive and well, it is visible in factories and farms. It is the devil that keeps coming back. In Obama, these racists have found something to hide behind and deal with their guilt.
Someone must tell me if his color (race) does not count in the decision of the voters. It does.
Nothing Obama has said that is new, they are just taken up by the fact that he is the first black person to go this far, and want to see how far further will he go. In his absence, Clinton would have been good enough.
DEADPRESIDENTS said 05/08, 10:15 AM
I am trying to resist the temptation to label you "Racist". How is this possible?
Obama has been talking to Americans like all other candidates and he has managed to convince them that his candidacy is about Change. People like that because the past 16 years has been tough for them and they want someone who can bring that change.
He is just better than the rest.
Obama is black and he is fully aware of that. But that has nothing to do with his performance. Your argument is suggesting that America is stagnant and has not moved beyond the chains of slavery and racism.
YOU ARE WRONG. In your next argument, you might want to consider l(A)belled and not l(E)belled.
Florida said 05/09, 02:41 AM
This election is and has never been about issues, it has been about race and gender. I bet you, if you were to go back to Florida and Michigan, Obama would win. A lot of people would change their votes there just to sound or appear politically correct. They would fear voting in a white over black person, as that would make them more of racists than sexist.
Let's face it, America has not dealt with its racist tendencies and it needs any opportunity to prove that they are not racist. Obama is that opportunity. You like it or you don't, it remains a consequential fact of history.
DEADPRESIDENTS said 05/09, 06:23 AM
Somehow I regret having accepted this challenge, but I'm in it now... so I must see it to finish.
Your statement "this election is and has never been about issues" is just a clear indicator that you have not been following them and you are just clinging to personalities which blinds you from looking at issues. There are issues that were discussed throughout the primaries, at rallies, media interviews, debates even adverts have been raising these issues, where have you been?
Yes there have been attacks and scrutiny when it comes to personalities but hey, issues have been more dominet.
Your argument is just insulting American voters that they make their decisions on who to vote for based on race and sensation. YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN.
Back to the topic, America has made a lot of progress when it comes to race relations but small groups that are still clinging onto race take us back so much that people like you think that there has not been progress at all.
Please note that I am not attacking you at all, I'm just trying to clarify my point as opposed to yours.
Florida said 05/09, 06:31 AM
Obama is black. He represents less than 30% of the American population. America is going to prove for you in the General election that this is a key issue for them.
I for one, will vote for Obama if he gets the nomination but not the majority of American voters will, and they will dump him purely because he is black.
McCain is going to use that in a smart way. He will not raise the "black" question but he will expose his weaknesses and America will then realise that it was too soon to vote a black man after all.
I KNOW I'M RIGHT.
DEADPRESIDENTS said 05/10, 10:22 AM
YOU ARE WRONG, Florida. Obama is kicking everyone's ****, at least in his party becaused his plans and strategy are attractive to the young, affluent, college population. Will he do better in the General Election, we'll have to wait and see. His race could count against him in a county so populated with other races either than black. The reason all these other races support the Sen is because he is smart and he makes sense.
Also, Obama doesn't go to every single election center and he doesn't stand right behind you, waiting to call you a racists for voting Hillary. He isn't omnipresent, if you know what this word means because your arguement makes you sound like a rasist kid (or young person that is pro-hillary and probably a chick).
miamibadboi | 05/08/08
Report Offensive CommentThe media turned this into a black vs. white and male vs. female issue. We are all racist and sexist to a certian point. Until we all accept that and move on with our lives there will always be this very same arguement coming up. I do not agree with any of the candidates that will be on the ballot. As an independant I will vote for who I think is going to do the best job. I spent my time in the military under Bill (I did not Inhale) Clinton and we suffered with getting mediocre cost of living raises, what makes me think Hillary will be any different. Obama has not proven himself yet to be anything other than a person who can read people and deliver a great speech. He has not taken on any of the tough issues yet so to me he is unproven. Mc Cain is just another George Bush in my opinion. We need an honest person in the White House who will do what they say they are going to do. If the two parties quit fighting about legislation because it is Republican or Democrat sponsored and voted what their constituents want we would be better off.

Report Offensive CommentGopdiva, I voted for you in your previous debate, but I don't think we should promote campaigning for votes. I think your arguments should speak for you. If we allow this, we will be starting a culture of alliances, and people would vote for the people they like not for the convincing debate.

I wouldn't be surprised if GAINSOMEHONOR and his partners in crime are your other accounts. Now you are DonkeyDude's mouthpiece, Ha!!. All the reasons for us to conclude that DonkeyDude is also in your stable of accounts. If not then you just cant get enough of sucking up.

theyoungdem | 05/10/08
Report Offensive CommentFlorida, I think you're a bit paranoid. Yes, race may factor in to some people's votes, but it is the media that is hyping the race/gender nonsense to such high levels. Also, you don't quite seem to know where you stand. First you state, "I bet you, if you were to go back to Florida and Michigan, Obama would win. A lot of people would change their votes there just to sound or appear politically correct." Then you state, "I for one, will vote for Obama if he gets the nomination but not the majority of American voters will, and they will dump him purely because he is black." Which will "whites" do? Vote for him to appear politically correct, or dump him because he is black?

Report Offensive CommentDon't be silly youngdem, you know you've been engaging in poor debates that need no intellect. It doesn't matter you won those (mostly by a margin of error). You know you have no debating abilities (you even confessed to this). If its not the obsession with Clinton negativity, you engaged in nagging debates. You were just like a spoilt brat. If I may remind you of your dumb debates, namely: "How the hell did I lose a debate to PEACE&LOVE" "This website has too many flaws to be worth using". "The leader board should be changed" "This web site should create a real-time chat feature, which would include the opportunity for real-time debates, moderated and voted on by other users" and of cause your stupid "Proposition". I have been engaged in some intelligent and enriching debates my child, better know that. Everyone knows that you were desperate to be in the circle of DD and Pit Bullshit who I still think they are the same person. in fact you have fuelled a new speculation that Youngdem, Pit Bullshit, yngster, motorolla, DD and P&L are the same person. You **** continue to expose yourselves.
POST | 05/11/08
Report Offensive CommentPOST, aka, Peace&Love, aka WeAreAllEqual: Give it up. You are too immature and frankly, not intelligent enough, to pull this off. If I may show YOU evidence, here is a debate from last month, when you posted as P&L: http://www.elephant-donkey.com/elephantdonkey/show/7861 ''I have learnt that mostly opening arguments are rather vague and sometimes carry a lot of points, then I vote.'' Just above, as POST, you said, ''If its not the obsession with Clinton negativity, you engaged in nagging debates. You were just like a spoilt brat.'' You are the only person on this web site who has trouble with the ''-ed'' simple past tense form of the English language.
USA Pit Bull 63 | 05/11/08
Report Offensive CommentSecond, you obviously despise Obama and love Hillary, which also raises legitimate suspicion that you were also Texas Democrat, who was caught cheating and impersonating DD and myself, and who was an ardent Hillary supporter and Obama hater.
USA Pit Bull 63 | 05/11/08
Report Offensive CommentThird, more evidence of your immature, venomous rants against other users that have no place on this web site, or in any civil discussion/forum: http://www.elephant-donkey.com/elephantdonkey/show/8823. As P&L, you said, ''Yes its me. I think It's time someone tells you to f*ck off. You have been spoiling this site using my name and other good names of good sportsman and women. You just are a cry baby that did not get enough love from home.'' [And you also said:] ''All you can do for yourself is to apologise to everyone for this chaos. But knowing you and your ego, you will not, you'd rather die, which I think is the next best option.'' This clearly resonates in your last rant/posting against YoungDem, and DD, and myself. You just can't get over that you're bad at this, and that you got caught.
USA Pit Bull 63 | 05/11/08
Report Offensive CommentAnd lastly, for anyone else who needed to see how I exposed you as a faux conservative, as well as how your rants just can't stop, check this out: http://www.elephant-donkey.com/elephantdonkey/show/9481. This also includes links to anyone who would like to read my previous debates. This will also remind users how I exposed you as a phony conservative and Ann Coulter fan (your original icon, before you switched it back to your old name???s, WeAreAllEqual, icon). Have a nice day. :)
USA Pit Bull 63 | 05/11/08
Report Offensive CommentAnd for the record, no one has yet challenged me individually to a debate on this site, though I have requested users to several times. And the reason I haven't taken challenges or initiated them of late is because my last four have ended in cheating scandals by others users (you) and an opponent who hasn't answered my last rebuttal in 2 weeks. Kinda turns a person off.
USA Pit Bull 63 | 05/11/08
Report Offensive CommentYes, I confessed to be not a good debator, but I know I am better than you at least. :) And you claim my wins are due to debates that require "no intelligence", well those debates you listed? I either lost them or they never finished, except for one or two, and my other debates? Such as the gum control one, I believe I did very well in that. And I admit, I admire Pit Bull and Donkeydude, because they, unlike you, have superior debating skills, and I can learn from them.
